Next Generation Scholarship
The Next Generation Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to two high school students chosen by REGIONAL. Entrants must must submit a short essay on a topic chosen by the credit union.

Fill out the form and upload your essay below to be considered for the Next Generation Scholarship. Two $500 scholarships are awarded anually.
Please submit your entry by April 14, 2025.
2025 Essay Topic
This year's essay topic: What is a financial plan? How would having or not having a financial plan affect your life goals? Please limit your essay to 500 words or fewer, and use double-spaced 12-point Times New Roman font.

There is a maximum word count of 500, but no required minimum as long as you submit a complete essay that answers the prompt question.
Yes; your essay should be double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman.
If you're not submitting online here, you can turn in your essay to your Guidance Counselor or at your school's Student Credit Union branch, if applicable.
Yes; if you're not submitting online (which is the easiest way), you may turn in your essay at REGIONAL in Hammond, Portage or Valparaiso.
Yes; any REGIONAL student member can enter.
No; winners may use their scholarship funds at their own discretion.
Yes; you don’t need a REGIONAL account to apply, but if you win it is required that you open a savings and checking account. Direct deposit is the way REGIONAL disburses these scholarships. It only takes a dollar, a valid ID and a short application.
